Other AbstractA new inst rument for measuring the elect ric field in thunderclouds,micro2rocket elect ric field inst rument , is int roduced. It is remodeled f romΦ55mm ×760mm hail-elimination micro-rocket.The principle is that a conductor will induce elect ric charge in elect ricfield.It consist s of elect ric field sensor,measuring circuit,1680MHz telemet ric t ransmitter and antenna. The feature of this inst rument is simple st ructure,high integration , microminiaturization , high mobility,low power dissipation , and low cost.This inst rument succeeds in flight-testing in early 1998. The measuring range of elect ric field is 1-100kV/ m.The measuring height is up to about 7.5km. It is mainly applied for insurance of safety launching of spacecraft,detection and preliminary warning of lightning and hail in the weather department.
