AbstractThis paper investigates the optimal design of amplitude phase shift keying (APSK) constellation for a new simplified demapping algorithm. According to the new simplified demapping algorithm, a new object function for optimization is presented. Simulation shows that: the simplified demapping algorithm decreases the demapping complexity with 1dB loss of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at high SNR; with the optimized hard decision threshold the performance improves about 0.26dB at SNR that we are interested in. © 2015 ICIC International.
