Abstract | Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has been proposed for Satellite-ground data transmission system, taking the advantage of its high spectral efficiency. Unlike terrestrial communications, OFDM signal suffers from significant and time-varying Doppler effects. A novel fast tracking Doppler compensation (FTDC) method for OFDM signal in satellite data transmission scenario is proposed. Compared with the conventional time-frequency synchronization methods, the proposal compensates the Doppler shift with adequate accuracy within only one frame of data, so that it is capable for real-time tracking the fast time-varying Doppler effects during the data transmission window. Moreover, the proposed method introduces less overhead without applying any long training sequences, getting along with high transmission efficiency requirement. The performance of FTDC is evaluated through simulation and analysis. © 2016 IEEE. |
