AbstractA metal-only reflectarray antenna using square loop and square spiral element is presented in this paper. By using this unified structure, substrate used in conventional planar reflectarray can be removed. The phase range of about 450° is realized by changing the central spiral stubs. A Ku-band offset-fed reflectarray prototype with a square aperture of 120 mm is designed and simulated for verification. The performances and simulated results are also provided. The simulated gain of 23.4 dB and 1-dB gain bandwidth of 7.4% are achieved at center frequency of 13.58 GHz. © 2017 IEEE.
