AbstractA study of random signal radar imaging using the phase-only data in frequency domain is presented. Traditional matched filtering (MF) is modified using only the phase term in range frequency domain. It is shown that this approach is able to enhance the image quality of noise synthetic aperture radar (SAR) without increasing any computational complexity. Preliminary results on both one-dimensional (1-D) simulated data and real airborne noise SAR data are presented, which show the proposed approach can suppress the masking effect and increase the dynamic range of radar image for distributed targets. © 2018 Warsaw University of Technology.
