AbstractIn this paper, a low frequency CPW-fed monopole antenna is proposed, which is matched by an active circuit to provide a super wideband. The original antenna fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW) consists of T-shaped radiation patch and CPW ground plane. Naturally, the original antenna operates at 215 MHz with a -10 dB fractional bandwidth of 50%. To broaden its bandwidth for HF, VHF, UHF applications, a non-foster circuit (NFC) that is an active circuit and can be equivalent to a negative inductor or capacitance is properly devised to match the original antenna. By using the co-simulation of the HFSS and ADS, the obtained results show that a -10 dB fractional bandwidth of 191.6% ranging from 10 MHz to 468 MHz is achieved using the proposed antenna system.
