Abstract | The microwave humidity and temperature sounder (MWHTS) onboard the Fengyun-3C (FY-3C) satellite is a passive microwave radiometer with 89, 118.75, 89 and 183.31-GHz frequencies. This sensor is under a high data quality, and the accumulated large amount of data can detect atmospheric temperature profile, humidity profile, precipitation, typhoon. It helps to global climate research. In this paper, performance and application of MWHTS are studied. The results demonstrate that the MWHTS and ATMS have a high data consistency. The sensor is in very good condition. Additionally, the application of the sensor is introduced in this paper. The potential application can lay a foundation for numerical weather prediction, climate research and other further research. |
